So, Luke turned 3… 3!… i have a 3 year old! WHATTTT??
we celebrated with some presents & a stack of chocolate chip pancakes with a candle on top (as requested by luke) the morning of his birthday… but we wanted to have a party that would flip this kid’s lid. so during one relaxing playdate, having coffee with my girlfriends, we came up with the idea to take the kids for an epic train ride. We all met at the guilford train station where everyone except Luke was excited (see above)… Luke has only been ON a train once, so he was very nervous to be boarding the “high speed train mommy” …once we got him on the train, he settled in and couldn’t stop smiling. with snacks, bandanas, conductor hats, & his three best friends, this little birthday boy was in heaven.
we arrived in old saybrook to the dads waiting there to greet us and followed them inside to our table complete with thomas the train everything. there was a train running on tracks above their heads, a model train track upstairs, and a view to all the trains running by outside. it was little kid magic. five pizzas & a bunch of beer later, we had successfully pulled off the party of Luke’s dreams. thank you to my friends emma, kate, & deirdre for helping me pull this off and for honestly being the best mom friends a girl could ever ask for.
and thank you to steve for capturing these moments. xo
